Series Overview

Thicker Than Water is a reality TV series that ran on Bravo in 2013.  The series follows the family of Ben Tankard, a gospel music producer and motivational speaker. Bravo previously aired the Thicker Than Water series, but with a different family, the Marinos. The show highlights how the Tankard family has used religion and the ministry to create wealth for themselves. In fact, the family believes that God himself wants them to be rich.

The Thicker Than Water series is produced by Sirens Media and John Doe Productions. The executive producers are Caroline Self, Darren Toon, Lucilla D’Agostino, Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Renard Young, and Valerie Haselton Drescher.

  • S1 E1 – Family Ties – A young man tries to court Ben’s daughter, Cyrene, to go to the prom. Brooklyn is running a marathon that just happens to be on the same day as the prom. Britney and Brooklyn go out on a double date.
  • S1 E2 – Sibling Biblery – Ben stresses the point that if your last name is Tankard, you have to be a millionaire. Jewel promotes financial independence for women. Brooklyn and Benji get into a fight.
  • Episode 3 – Southern Discomfort – Brooklyn crashes the family car and gets accused of illegal behavior.
  • Episode 4 – Not the Family Standard – First, Jewel plans his parent’s wedding anniversary after Junice screws up. Later, Benji has a surprise for Shanira.
  • Episode 5 – Kandi Rocks – Kandi Buruss visits the Tankard family. Later, Brooklyn struggles with the challenges of being a working mom.
